Automation Engineering
The Automation Engineering programme qualifies you to work with the development and optimisation of automatic process and production lines.
You will gain knowledge of the use of automation and robot technology in industrial systems.
When qualified, you will be able to work in the public utility sector or for private industry, e.g. in the industrial production of wind turbines, pumps, abattoirs, dairies etc.

About the Programme
The Automation Engineering programme takes two years and consists of a compulsory part and an elective part. The study programme includes mathematics, physics, measurement science and data collection, operating and control systems, structuring and quality assurance.
The programme takes two years and consists of mandatory courses, supplementary courses, three month work placement and a final project.
Mandatory courses are business related elements, Design and construction of automatic unit, integration of automatic units and System design of automatic process and production lines.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. The study and work form is based on project groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

Automation Engineering is an Academy Profession (AP) Programme rated at 120 ECTS. The qualification is called an AP Degree - an Academy Profession Degree.

Entry Requirements
General admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates:
The Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) or another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate.
In addition, there can be prerequisites for English and mathematics proficiencies at predefined levels.

Admission
The application deadline is March 15 (December 1 for EU and Nordic students) for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk.

Tuition
There is a tuition fee for all full-degree students, unless you are a student from an EU/EEA country, or from Switzerland.
Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.
