Food Technology
In this progamme you learn to design and develop food product by use of advanced techniques of biotechnology, microbiology and bioinformatics.
You can take single courses within the programme or graduate from the entire programme as Master of Science in Engineering or Master of Science and Technology.

Modern food production uses advanced technologies such as biotechnology, microbiology, enzymology, nutrigenomics and bioinformatics.
The programme is interdisciplinary and combines biology, biochemistry and engineering.
You will learn to combine existing and new knowledge of food technology. You will be able to meet the consumers' needs for healthy and safe foods taking sustainability and ethics into account.
You can choose one of these study lines:
- Food Biotechnology
- Functional Foods and Nutrigenomics
- Food Production, Innovation and Management
Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction, exercises and project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
The final 6-12 months you will be making your MSc thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.
Food Technology can be studied as a:

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.
Graduation from the master's degree programme confers the title Master of Science in Engineering or Master of Science and Technology.

Entry Requirements
To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.
In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition
There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.
Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.
