The European Masters in Lifelong Learning is an elite programme provided by three universities.

The programme gives you an understanding of education in an international perspective. You will acquire tools to develop globalised, lifelong learning.

You will be able to work out education policies or advise organisations and politicians about education.

You will study at at least two of the three universities that provide the programme. This way, you will gain an insight into the education system of different European countries.

The universities are:

  • The Danish School of Education in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • The Institute of Education in London, England
  • The University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain

Learning doesn't only take place in childhood and youth, it is a lifelong process. That fact is the focus of this programme. Learning can be formal or informal, and the programme will give you tools to assess and compare different kinds of learning.

The four semesters are offered as follows:

  • 1st and 2nd semester can be studied in Denmark or England
  • 3rd semester can be studied in Spain
  • 4th semester can be studied in Denmark, England or Spain

According to your choice of universities, you can study within these fields:

  • Theories, perspectives and tools in Lifelong Learning.
  • Policies in areas such as further education, etc.
  • The educational systems of European countries
  • "The Learning Individual"
  • Human resource development in the workplace
  • Quality Management

The Lifelong Learning programme is a part of the European Commission's Erasmus Mundus programme that promotes cooperation and mobility in the field of higher education and that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education.

Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction and project work in groups. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

The final 6 months you will be making your MA thesis.

Graduation from the master's degree programme confers the title Master of Arts (MA).

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to an MA programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.
